Diskio Privacy Policy
Last updated:
Overview
Diskio is a storage speed testing app for iPhone, developed by Sergii Khliustin (ioapps). This policy describes the current app, including its use of Google Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics. A Diskio account is not required.
Storage access and temporary files
Diskio creates its own temporary test file in internal storage or a location you select through Files. It reads and writes that file to measure speed and attempts to remove it when a test finishes, is cancelled or fails. The test does not need the contents of your existing documents. Storage locations must be accessible and writable.
Test settings, preferences and permission bookmarks are stored locally. The benchmark does not upload the contents of the temporary file or your selected drive to ioapps.
Usage analytics
Firebase Analytics collects app interactions and technical information to help us understand use and improve Diskio. Collection is enabled automatically. This can include app-instance or device identifiers, app and operating-system information, and standard session and screen events.
Diskio also sends events for starting, repeating, cancelling, finishing and sharing tests. Event parameters can include test-file size, block size, run count, whether external storage was selected, measurement-method version, cancellation reason and completed read and write speeds. These custom events do not include the selected folder path, drive name or document contents. We do not describe this information as completely anonymous.
Crash diagnostics
Firebase Crashlytics collects crash reports and diagnostic information, including stack traces, app and operating-system information, and installation identifiers. Analytics events may also appear as diagnostic breadcrumbs. This helps us investigate failures. Runtime or exception metadata may contain incidental details about the running process.
Tracking permission and your choices
Diskio requests tracking permission through Apple’s system prompt. You can allow or deny that request and change your choice in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking. Access to Apple’s advertising identifier is subject to this permission. Denying tracking does not turn off all usage analytics or crash diagnostics; the current app does not provide separate in-app switches for those services.
The App Store privacy information discloses identifiers that may be used for tracking, and identifiers and diagnostics collected without being linked to your identity. You choose the storage location to test and whether to share a result report.
Service providers and retention
Analytics and diagnostics are processed by Google through Firebase and Google Analytics. This means information is transmitted to third-party services, including processing that may take place outside your country. Retention depends on the service, our project settings and provider policies. Please contact us with questions about data access or deletion.
Reports you share and support requests
Sharing a report sends the result card and included test information to the app or recipient you select. That destination handles the shared information under its own policies.
If you email support, we receive your email address, message and any attachments you send. We use these to respond and investigate the issue. Please review screenshots and reports before sending them. You can contact us about access to or deletion of support information.
Changes to this policy
We will update this page and the date below when this description changes. Downloads, payments and any diagnostics you share with Apple are handled under Apple’s policies and your system settings.
